The IPL arrived in Cape Town with all the noise, glitz and Bollywood glamour that made the opening series such a hit in India last year. There were those, myself included, that wondered just how South Africa would adapt to the clash of cricket and rock-star hype, especially after a long, hot summer featuring the Australian  back to back series. I should'nt have worried. Newlands was sold out, and considering that this was all put together in less than a month, it was truly spectacular on behalf of all concerned. Box office records were smashed, cricket balls were smashed..and sadly for me, camera lenses were smashed as the focus and cheers switched from the Proteas to the the Mumbai Indians without so much as skipping a beat.
